Bathroom Vanity
Lights
Bathroom vanity lights serve the dual purposes of task light
and ambient light. Your choice of vanity lighting fixtures will
revolve around the size of the mirror and basin and the size of
the room.
Ambient bathroom lighting creates shadows at the mirror
which can be easily removed by fixtures placed at the top and
sides of the vanity mirror. For a theatrical effect,
small lights can be run in strips around three sides of a
vanity; while eye-level sconces on each side of the mirror can
produce needed light for shaving and makeup application.
Beyond pure function, your bathroom vanity lights dress and
warm an otherwise cold dank room. They are the jewelry
that puts the finishing touch on your bathroom decorating
creation. There is even a style of vanity light named
"vanity bracelet light". The light so near the mirror is
multiplied into the room. There are endless selections
for ways to light up the walls around your bathroom vanity
mirror. You want your bathroom to be sparkling clean and
nothing shows off that cleanliness like bright bathroom vanity
lights reflecting in your vanity mirror.
If you have a bathroom with a double sink, you should
consider two lights with one centered over the center of each
sink. If you have one sink and a narrow mirror, a light
on each side of the mirror works well. These lights need
to be positioned about 30 inches apart and the ideal height for
them is 65 to 70 inches from the floor.
One thing you can do to spruce up an old bathroom, without
completely remodeling, is to replace the vanity, sink, mirror
and bathroom vanity lights. Along with a detailed cleaning, the
whole room will look new.
